Russian metal cross. The Pectoral Cross “In Memory of the War of 1853–1856”. It was established alongside a medal of the same name to commemorate the conclusion of the Crimean War (1853–1856) and to mark the coronation of Alexander II.
The pectoral cross “In Memory of the War of 1853–1856” was awarded to the entire Russian Orthodox clergy (from metropolitans to parish priests), whether they had participated in the Crimean War or served on the home front.
On the reverse side, there is an inscription in Cyrillic: “In You, O Lord, we place our hope; let us not be put to shame forever.”
